It's Almost Cookie Exchange Time

The cookies are baked and placed on their trays. The house has been straightened and vacuumed. The appetizers are waiting to be set in their place. Finally, the CHRISTmas music is wafting through the air yielding to the feeling of expectation. So what to do now? Wait for everyone to arrive in a few hours. Yes, my "1st Annual Christmas Cookie Exchange" will begin before I know it. I can hardly wait.

I scheduled the party for mid-morning with my dear friends so that no one would have to interrupt their evening family time. Having it at this time of day also affords us to have a "ladies day" without the Hubby's. Yes, it's nice to have our Hubby's here but it's also nice for time spent with just us women.

I found a sweet little site called Santa Lady that I used for printing out some CHRISTmas games to play. I also have prizes to award for different things like, best cookie presentation, most festive dress, etc. However, no one knows there will prizes or games so this is all a surprise. This is the season of giving and it really is more fun to give than to receive.

By the way...did I forget to mention that today is my birthday!?! Alright, I admit it, I'm throwing myself a birthday party in cookie disguise. *grin* Hubby kept asking me what I wanted for my birthday and you know, I really don't need anything or know of anything that I want so instead, I decided to have a party to celebrate my friends. Knowing that I have some of the most awesome friends is gift enough for me.
