Floral Heirloom

One of my Althea's is blooming. I so love this tree. The other is due to bloom anytime now. They're just as gorgeous as the one that Mom had when I was a child.

Sunny Saturday

It's been a beautiful Saturday. After a little 'me' time this morning,  I came home and started on yard work. I just adore my property.

Later my sweetie helped me till up the raised garden beds. I so love the smell of freshly worked soil. Now we're thinking of redesigning and enlarging them. There's always something to do. But I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Southern Winter

This is how we do January in the South...however,  when everyone else is experiencing cool Fall weather later in the year and we're still sweltering, I admit I will probably be jealous.

Lucky Bamboo

We potted our "Lucky Bamboo" tonight. It's just so pretty. While basking in the beauty of it, I began wondering what the meaning behind it was. So after doing an internet search, I found a lot of great, fun facts that really interested me. Here's a couple links if you're interested....

Market Garden Tour

Mom and I started the day out by visiting the local farmer's market & touring the adjacent gardens.

I enjoy looking at other gardens to get a little inspiration for my own. It's amazing what they have done right in the heart of the city.

Look at the beautiful grapes on the vines. I didn't find them this year, but next year I hope to plant some grapes on my property as well...especially Muscadines.

I adore chickens. The market sells fresh eggs so now you can see where some came from.

I'm not positive, but these look like Nubian goats. A friend of mine said that Nubian are great for milking but they are also great for being talkers. I can agree with him on that, as while we were out there all they did was talk to us! LOL

Strolling through the gardens is such a serene place to really get in touch with the beauty of the LORD and all HE is blessing us with.

December Gardens

It's the middle of December but we still have great weather for growing our gardens. Today we took a stroll through a local garden. I love the above ground garden areas. I have been getting things ready to start the layout of my own garden & this gives me a ton of ideas. I just love the fact that we can still get outside in the winter and enjoy nature without freezing.
