Julie & Julia

This afternoon I went and saw the new movie, "Julie & Julia." Hubby and I both got our way...both Julie & Julia and the new GI Joe movie were playing at almost the same time, so we decided we would see our own shows and catch up when they were over. I have to say, I just adored this movie. There were moments of laughter, tears, surprise and much more. I highly recommend this movie. There were about 2 or 3 scenes that contained a line or a curt word, but other than that, it was a pretty fun movie to watch.

My almost 11yo, Sky, is dying to see this, do you think it would be appropriate to see it in the theater, or better to wait until we can rent it (so as to fast forward through any "bad" parts)? She really WANTS to see it at the movies if we possibly can. Thanks!

The movie as a whole is pretty clean, there were just one or two parts where Julia Child and 2 other ladies were in the dressing room at a party and they were speaking of the head lady over the Cordon Blue school. The woman talking to Julia called the school marm a curt word, but then it was quickly over.

There was another scene, I can't recall the exacts of how it came about and there was a reference to the dish or something and the male anatomy. If you weren't paying attention you would miss it; my Dad did *grin.*

But really that is all I can think of (I could have missed something but that shows how few and far between the comments were), and why I made the original comment about it, as to forwarn everyone.

I really can't say one way or the other about Sky seeing it...I don't think it would be that out of line to see. In fact I was thinking of going to see again, and that's not like me. So for me, if it were all that race-y I would pass on it, but it really wasn't for the most part.

I hope I have helped more than rambled. ~sorry about that~

Thanks for sharing your review! It's been one of those movies that I was afraid the best parts were in the previews!! Ya' know?

Now I'm going to have to schedule some 'me' time to see it!
