It's not always easy...but it is worth it

Do you ever feel like you have to try and fit the mold of how others think you should be...only to be slapped in the face by them when you do? When you are walking in the shoes of being 'yourself,' do you find that those same people still slap you in the face? Matthew 5:29 AKJV says "But I say to you, That you resist not evil: but whoever shall smite you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also." We can turn our cheek numerous times only to have it slapped with each turn, but that doesn't mean we have to continue with toxic relationships in our lives.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:" If we look at the relationship with that/those person(s) what do we see? I mean really see? Are they adding to your life or taking away bit by bit or even chunk by chunk? Do they exhort you or diminish you? You can see good in every situation & person if you look hard enough. But sometimes, the good unfortunately stays over shadowed by the clouds.

It's not always easy to walk away from that which tears you down (verbally, emotionally, mentally & even at times physically) but there comes a time when it's much harder to stay. A very wise man of GOD once said, "be the best 'you' that you can be." We can't make everyone happy all the time. But if by being who GOD created you to be is something they can't accept, then maybe it's time to re-evaluate your relationship. God will bring people across your path for a time, a reason & a season. It's up to you to listen and obey when HE tells you the season is up. Staying longer where you need not be steers you further from the plan GOD has on your life.

If you feel that HE is telling you to separate yourself from something or someone(s), then heed and obey. What you think you might 'loose' might very well be the thing standing in the way of what HE is wanting to bless you with. Jeremiah 29:11 ESV "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
