The True Value Of Seeds

"I payed a dime for a package of seeds;
The clerk tossed them out with a flip.
'We have them assorted to every man's needs.'
He said with a smile on his lip.

'Pansies, poppies, asters, peas,
Ten cents a package, now pick as you please.'
Now seeds are just dimes to a man in a store,
And dimes are the things he needs,
And I've been to buy them in stores before
And thought them merely as seeds,

But it flashed through my mind as I took them this time,
'You've purchased a miracle here for a dime.'

You've a dimes worth of power, which no man can create.
You've a dimes worth of life in your hands.
You've a dimes worth of mystery, destiny, fate,
Which the wisest cannot understand.

In this bright little package - now istn't that odd?
You've a dimes worth of something known only to God."

Hope you are enjoying your garden by now. I just planted about half of mine today. I love the warm weather!

Unfortunately due to the horrible winter we had that lingered well past it's time in our area, we went from hot to freezing to hot to cold again so our seedlings that we started were lost. We did all that we could to preserve them but the l-o-n-g winter we had and fluctuating temps killed it all. So since planting season was well into it by the time we had "normal" temps we just scratched the whole thing. I am so sad about it but what can you do when the weather just wouldn't work in our favor. There are several others in our area that have had to scratch the idea as well. So maybe next year.

Seeds are indeed miracles -- each with the potential to repopulate the earth with its kind. And, one of my favorite examples:
Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
(1 Corinthians 15:36-38 KJV)

Oh, such sad news! You're such a green thumb kinda gal!

I imagine you have some friends and neighbors who will be happy to share their bounty, just like you did last season!
