Sew Easy....Well, Not Exactly Easy But It Wasn't Too Difficult

I finally decided to get out my fabric and try my hand at making myself a new pair of panties. I had thought about trying this before, but when I saw the wonderful job that Calico Prairie did a few weeks back, I was so inspired that I had to try it for myself.

After searching the fabric store catalogs and coming up empty on finding a ladies panty pattern I decided to take an old pair of mine and cut them up to make a pattern from scratch. I cut and pasted so to speak and this is the result....

FOLDED NICELY...

The waistband elastic could have been a little less in width, but I think I did ok for my first try, especially since I didn't have a pattern to go by. I tried them on and they fit perfectly. I am quite proud of myself. I still have a lot of fabric left over, so I should be able to get at least another 4 or 5 pair easy out of this material.

Thanks Calico! You really inspired me to try my hand at it. I can see things that I will do differently next time, but at least I know the basics of what to do and the fact that if I put my mind to it I can do it.
