Homespun Simplicity .... The Kitchen Sink

As much as we all love our kitchens (I know I sure do), there have probably been times when we have caught ourselves daydreaming of what it would be like to have one of "those" upscale, kitchens that we see on the food channels.

Well, as I was cleaning the kitchen I thought to myself, "how can I fancy up my area without spending a dime?" The answer was right there in my cabinet. Crystal! I took out two of my favorite pieces of crystal that were inherited from our dear Aunt B, and placed them at the sink. I used a smaller round crystal dish to use as a soap holder and a longer tray to hold the dish soap, sponge and drain plugs. It may not be a t.v. kitchen, but it certainly does look prettier when I'm washing dishes.

The most simple pleasures don't have to cost a thing, but the reward can certainly be priceless.

Thank you for this...

That's a great idea - taking things we already have and using them in new ways. The soap dish is ADORABLE and Aunt B. would be happy to know it was being used and enjoyed!! ♥

Oh, how sweet! :D I love your idea! :D Yes, those treasures from home are sometimes the best. ;) And every time you wash dishes, you can be thinking of your Aunt B.! :D I think that's more precious than any store bought expensive item. :)

Blessings!

How neat! Two Christmas presents require that I go through long-time-untouched cabinets where I've stored 'things' I own/love/can't get rid of. So, why not put them to use in different ways? How simple!!
