A New Season & A New Day

I can hardly believe it...it's September already! This year has certainly flown by in a hurry. For the first time since February, I was able to turn the a/c off and open the windows. Just letting the house air out is such a refreshing feeling. It's still a little warm out, but nothing near the 100* temps that Spring & Summer brought with it. Boy I hope those days are long behind us for the year.

So with the dawn of a new season, I am welcoming in Fall with a good old fashioned house cleaning. It was way too hot to spring clean, so as my Grandmother always taught me to do, I am doing my "Fall Cleaning" instead. I have the linens washed and ready to be put out on the clothes line to dry. I just love being able to save money this way, plus get the added bonus of fresh clean clothes that have been kissed by the breeze.

I still have floors to sweep and steam, then some rearranging. Hopefully I can get things done in a timely manner so that I will be able to start putting the fall decorations out. I have patiently been waiting to do this and now seems as good a time as any. I have to admit, I did cheat and put the wreath on the door out about a week ago, and boy did it feel great to do so. Even though it was sweltering outside, each time I walked up to the door and saw the beautiful Autumn colors of that wreath it just made me smile.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace."

Thanks for posting your kind thoughts on my blog. Yes, you are right -- that IS the mentality of many "parents," and I use that term lightly because people who do such things aren't really parents, are they?

I hesitated about posting my own struggles through this for fear some might bash me for being so transparent. Thank you for finishing your comment with scripture. I really appreciate it.

BTW -- That scripture on your blog from Ecc. is my dd's favorite portion of scripture. :-)

Ecc. 3:1-8 is a passage I go to often! I love fall. I can not complain about the summer we had here way up north. We had only 2 weeks of hot temperatures. Which was more than I can take. It has been in the 70's all week and will continue until next week. Praise the Lord. We will hopefully get our home painted this weekend. Blessings to you!
