The weather in my neck of the woods:
It's been hot but it has been trying to cool down some
One of my simple pleasures:
A clean home
On my bedside table:
Nothing right now
On my TV:
The weather
On the menu for tonight:
Sausage, baked potatoes & a green veggie
On my To Do List:
Cleaning house, market shopping
New Recipe I tried last week:
It wasn't a new recipe but it is a family favorite
Fresh Basil Pesto
In the craft basket:
fabric that I need to cut canning jar toppers out of
to get ready for gift giving presentation
Looking forward to:
time spent with friends that I haven't seen in awhile
Homemaking Tip for this week:
Now that we are moving into the holiday baking season,
check the sale ads & stock up on those items that you know you
will be using not just for the holidays but everyday
(i.e. sugar, oil, etc.) Having extras on hand will
help reduce finding out your out of an ingredient
in the middle of a recipe. Not to mention, if the weather
is yucky outside, you won't have to get out in the
elements because everything you need will be
at home already

Lesson learned the past few days:
On my Prayer List:
My Hubby, our family, our Church & Church family, the government &
our local officials, for a closer relationship with my LORD,
for our children & our grandchildren
Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
Nehemiah 8:10b "...for this day is holy unto our LORD:
neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength."

Hey there!
You asked about canning pesto...I also don't can it, but rather freeze it as you do. I think by canning you would lose that bright green color, and I have never really seen a recipe for canning it. My Ball Blue Book only has a recipe for freezing. Sorry!

I agree with your simple pleasure. I love a clean house, it's always refreshing. That feeling that you have really accomplished something.
Your menu for tonight sounds yummy!
I love your simple pleasure. I've been stocking up on everything for baking season. With the temps getting cooler here I have been in the kitchen more often. I'm looking forward to trying the pumpkin bread you posted. Have a wonderful day.
Such a good idea to stock up for baking. Now we can try some of your recipes too!
