A Good Old Fashioned House Cleaning

As a Keeper of the Home, one of my daily routines is to make sure that our home is neat and tidy. But there have been times that I have wondered if GOD really cares if our home is clean and in order. After all doesn't HE have more important things to tend to then the condition of our homes?

When we read I Corinthians 14:40, it says, "Let all things be done decently and in order." Therefore we know that GOD is a god of order. He wants us to do things in an orderly and neat fashion. So yes, GOD does care if our home is clean and neat.

Moreso, HE wants our lives to be neat and clean too. GOD is a good god and HE doesn't ask us or tell us to do anything that would be for our harm. No, HE wants only the best for us. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

If you honestly evaluate your own life, can you say that things are orderly? Or would you have to admit that you need to do some personal home tending? I have been in both places at different times, and I can testify that I am much happier when I have my life in order. Not in my own sense of order, but clean and tidy according to the Word of GOD and HIS commands on how I should present myself.

It's Monday, so why don't we all start our week off with a bit of good old fashioned home keeping. You'll feel much better if you do.

You are speaking right to me today. On my blog, I've been posting about the huge cleaning project going on at my house. It's good on so many levels. Most importantly I can focus my energies on my family and God when my house is in order.

Thanks for visiting! I can totally agree that a clean and organized home and personal house makes you feel so good. It does make focusing on the LORD and our families much easier. And stress-less.

This is a wonderful post!! One thing that I try to keep in mind also is a good testimony!! Not only does God want us to live and orderly life but it doing this are we have a good testimony.

One of the many things that my dad thought me growing up was first impressions mean a lot. Being a christian our first impressions reflect on our Lord and Saviour. We have people coming in to buy eggs and if they come inside and my house is not in order how am I being a light for Jesus!! If Jesus were to walk into your home today would you be a good testimony for Him?? Question of the day!!

Coming from the Stroupe home!!
