Still On A Break But...

Even though I am still on a break from blogging (well, at least a slow down on posting) and other things life has thrown our way, I did want to share a few things with you while I had a few minutes...(plus I admit, I miss my readers ~ you're like family to me.)

We are coming along quite well with our garden. We were able to pick up a few garden plants to put in our bed. So far we have tomatoes, bell peppers (red, green & orange,) squash, jalapeno peppers, basil, sage, rosemary, strawberries, and a few other goodies that I can't recall right off hand.

After service hubby was able to get 2 of our rows made in the garden bed before he had to head off to work again. His goal is to get them completed tomorrow so we can begin putting the plants in the ground.

I had been anxious to get our blueberries in the ground but hubby had to make our raised beds for them. He worked diligently yesterday evening and now they are officially planted. Woo Hoo!!

Each blueberry bush needs to be planted at least 8 feet apart (6 feet minimum) but we were able to give them a full 10 feet of space in between. That will be even better. Reasoning for the large spacing area is that once the bushes really take off and bloom out, if they are too close together you'll end up with a smooshed together hedge instead of bushes. This will of course create overcrowding and make it very difficult to properly pick your berries. Didn't he do a great job on the garden boxes that we planted them in!?! I sure think so.

Anyway, I just wanted to give you a little peek at the progress of our garden and planting up to this point. Now it's time to get some rest. Looking forward to being with you all again soon.

It all looks so wonderful! Thank you for sharing your lovely greenies :) I need to get my "babies" photographed sometime, I may be pushed back a little as far at time goes, we got quite a bit of snow last night, but temperatures are forecasted to be near 70 by the end of the week, so who knows, lol. Beautiful Tennessee weather, if you don't like it, wait a day or two :) Glad your links work now!
