Zesty Salt Substitute (from TOH Holiday & Celebration Cookbook)
3 tsp. garlic powder
3 tsp. ground mustard
3 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. celery seed
1/2 tsp. white pepper
In a small bowl, combine all ingredients. Store in an airtight container for up to 6 months. Use to season meats or vegetables. Yield: about 1/4 cup.

Salt Substitute #1 (from Quick Cooking Magazine)1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon each dried parsley flakes, basil, marjoram and thyme
1 teaspoon rubbed sage
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon ground mace
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
In a small bowl, combine all ingredients. Use to season pork, chicken or fish. Store in an airtight container. Yield: 1/4 cup.

Salt Substitute #2 (from Light & Tasty Magazine)3 bay leaves broken into pieces
3 teaspoons dried minced onion
2 teaspoons dried rosemary, crushed
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
1 teaspoon rubbed sage
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender; cover and process until finely ground. Transfer to a salt shaker; use in place of salt. Yield: 8 teaspoons.

Hi!
Thanks for the homemade spice mix recipes! I am not supposed to have salt due to health issues, but I still crave the taste once in awhile, so after much research, I came across Lessalt. It's a combination of Potassium and Sea Salt, but it tastes oh so salty!
I have learned to cook with spices as a general rule, and love it, but sometimes a person just want good old fashioned salt!
I've ordered three times from this site, and although the cost seems a little high, believe me, this stuff lasts forever! Try it!
