Bayou Cuisine Delta Cookery

I happened upon a bargain of all bargains today....at least to me that is. I was perusing the shelves of the book sale at the library and saw a cookbook that just jumped out at me, called "Bayou Cuisine." The book itself didn't really look appetizing from the cover photo but just the fact of it being bayou cuisine was enough to make me pick it up and browse through it.

The front inside page read "pot pourri of delta cookery, art, and history - reflecting cultural influences traditionally and transitionally." Then we have the table of content page which in this case is listed as the "Historical Panorama," that include sections such as Ante Bellum, War Between the States, Post Bellum, etc. Each section has not only recipes but history from that era as well. Being a Southern girl through & through this is such an awesome find.

Now, here's the kicker....I just looked the book up online and found two places that are selling an old beat up copy of it, one for $30 and the other for $40.61. Guess what!?! I only paid $3.25 for my copy!!!
