I hadn't been market shopping since March 9th, so needless to say we were low or out of a few things. So yesterday was the day to get the shopping taken care of. I went with a budget of $140 for the month of April. That's right, for the month. We still have some meat in the freezer and items in our pantry, so here's how I did....
First I went by Walmart. Now this is out of the ordinary for me, as I normally don't shop Walmart, but I had a few things that I knew I wanted from there.
Coupon savings...$6.96
Total out of pocket...$46.92
Next it was on to Kroger. I just love the double and triple coupon offers they have. Too bad more stores don't pick up on it. I had a coupon for a free Big Red soda with the purchase of 2 dozen eggs, so that was a nice little extra. I had 2 buy 1 get 1 free coupons for Tropicana plus 2 $1.00 off coupons. So that was a real bargain! I also hit a buy 1 get 1 free sale on the Jose Ole taquitos plus I had another coupon for $1.00 off. I found a double pack of Hamburger Helper Lasagna on the clearance table marked down to $0.59! I don't buy this normally but for that price, I couldn't pass it up.
Coupon savings...$41.55
Total out of pocket...$73.82
Total savings...$48.51
Grand total spent $120.74
That still leaves $19.26 for April's budget. I did pretty well if I do say so myself.

It's been a rainy day making it feel almost wintery. Well...in appearance
not temperature. So I figured it was a great time to make soup. But who
wants to...
