Happy Homemaker 3-15-10

The weather in my neck of the woods:
Overcast at the moment and everything is so damp outside

One of my simple pleasures:
Sitting in the rocking chair next to the window with a good
book or magazine to read

On my bedside table:
The current edition of "Country Woman" magazine

On my TV:
The Walton's DVD series; currently watching the episode entitled
"The Typewriter"

On the menu for tonight:
Something quick and easy

On my To Do List:
Clean litter box, vacuum, straighten house, laundry, wait for
phone call from the doctor's office on test results, follow up
on meeting from last week -- if that works out today
then go down and take care of paper work

New Recipe I tried last week:
Sour Cream Pork Enchiladas

In the craft basket:
I finally made a new front door wreath

Looking forward to:
The promises of GOD being fulfilled in our family's life
(not just in our life but for all our family.)


Homemaking Tip for this week:Align CenterHubby used our pressure cooker outdoors on the propane
burner. Well, the heat from the flames turned the outside of
our canner from silver to black. Soap and water didn't remove
the discoloration, but when he pulled out the Borax it came
right off. Borax is a home keepers best friend! Our cleaning
supply cupboard is not complete with out a box or two in it.

Market shopping done and saved a bunch, even though
I did splurge and by some junk!

Lesson learned the past few days:
No matter how much we dread waiting, some things just
take time.

On my Prayer List:
Family, marriages, friends, for those who are battling cancer,
for a closer - more intimate walk with the LORD for all of us
including myself, for restoration and provision, for
the teenagers, patience and perseverance to press on &
press in to the things of GOD

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
Ephesians 3:14-21 (NIV)
"For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his
whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name.
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen
you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,

Such a good lesson learned and it's one I still struggle with every once in a while.
