Q & A -- Bean Pot

I have been interested in bean pots for some time now, but I have never used one or knew of anyone who had either. Right now Gooseberry Patch has their bean pot (pictured above) on sale for $9.00. That's not a bad deal. However, I hate to spend the money on something that I may or may not use. I also have an issue that the pot is too specific in it's use. So I was wondering if any of my dear readers has ever used a bean pot before and if so how well do you like it? Have you found that it can be used for purposes other than just beans? So I guess what I really want to know is do you think it would be worth spending the $9.00 (plus shipping) for this cute little pot? Thanks for your help.

Hummm...I wish I could tell you about bean pots, but I've never owned one of the cute little things. My maternal grandmother had one, but I don't even know if she used it. It always seemed to me as if it only sat on "display" in her kitchen.

I have a miniature bean pot that keeps our toothpicks. Never have owned the real thing. However, I have purchased some "use-only-for" things. Some have been useful, others remain decorative conversation items, others simply collect dust. So, my decision tool is: Would I spend $(insert amount) for a one-time meal? One that would be a dim memory shortly? Then, yep -- I'd spend that amount on satisfying curiousity.
