As I was listening to this mornings re-broadcast of a message Pastor Chuck R. Swindoll gave to his congregation the first Sunday of 2009, I was instantly reminded of how true these words are...no matter what year we enter. I encourage you to take a moment to read and ask how GOD would have you reflect on these in your own life. I know I sure had an awakening this morning as I listened.
Want to ruin your year? Make sure that you...
1. worry a lot
2. fix your attention on getting rich
3. compare yourself with others
4. lengthen your list of enemies (it makes it easier to shift the blame)
5. cling to unrealistic expectations
Five Predictions Worth Remembering (1 Peter 2:11 – 12, 18 – 25)
Remember these five truths this year:
1. I will be watched by an unbelieving world
2. I will encounter unreasonable people
3. I will endure unjust treatment
4. I will need unusual patience
5. I will have unfailing protection
