Thankful Living

Can you believe Thanksgiving is just a few hours away!?! I don't know about you but I can almost smell the turkey now. *grin* There's nothing better than a day set aside to spend with family and friends that you hold dear. Instead of waiting until a certain day or two in the year, we try to get together with those we love at least once a month for a dinner and/or game night, or what have you. Something just as long as we are spending time together. Everyone has their own individual lives and happenings, so it doesn't always work out but we try our best to make sure that we don't have too much time laps in between connecting with each other.

On the subject of Thanksgiving, let's talk food! What are some of the things that you look forward to on this treasure of days? Mine are...well...everything! Homemade macaroni & cheese, turkey (of course), gravy, sweet potatoes, deviled eggs, hot homemade rolls, cranberry sauce, stuffing, pumpkin pie, green beans....you name it. But before the main course there's the wonderful crudités (appetizers) that you just can't resist nibbling on.

Sitting around the table sharing in conversation with those that mean the world to you is just about the best thing ever. It doesn't matter if you have a beautifully set table with all the best serving pieces or if your eating off of paper plates and sitting at a card table...what matters is being with your loved ones. These are the things that memories are made of.

So what are you looking forward to this Thanksgiving? Will it be the dinner itself, the preparing of the feast days before, or just the time spent with those you love? Regardless of what we're looking forward to, let us all keep a thankful heart in all that we do. GOD has blessed each of us with so much. Even in our darkest moments we have so much to be thankful for. Thank YOU Father for every blessing, but most of all thank You for the gift of Your SON JESUS. Thank YOU that because of what HE did on Calvary, I am alive today. Thank YOU for the hope and assurance that I have in YOU . I am a child of GOD and I thank YOU that I have received the free gift of Salvation that cost my Savior everything. Praise GOD from Whom all blessings flow. In JESUS Mighty Name ~ Amen.

We are enjoying a lazy day today with grateful hearts. I am glad I popped over to read your post and found the green bean recipe you posted earlier. I am suppose to carry green beans to our family gathering tomorrow and want to give this recipe a try. Thanks for sharing.
