Thrifty Thursday

While out taking care of some errands this morning, I stopped off at the Thrift Store. I normally don't care to shop for clothing, especially for myself, as I just can't bring myself to spend the money. Everything just costs so much & I refuse to pay retail for anything unless absolutely necessary...even then it's got to be on sale or I will do without. Needless to say, my last shopping venture has been more than a year ago. I don't feel like I have missed anything either.

Well, I have been wanting to get a new skirt but just haven't looked anywhere for one & really wasn't going to look anywhere but today was my blessed day. I found a beautiful skirt from Coldwater Creek that was only $4.00 at the thrift store. If you have ever looked at their store or website you would know that Coldwater Creek has lovely clothing items but boy are they pricey! Extremely pricey. So $4.00 was a bargain. You can't really see it but the bottom of the hem has sparkly accents to it. It's so pretty.

I also found this blouse that matched pretty well with the skirt. It was marked $2.50 but was on discount for $1.88. I wasn't going to pass that deal up.

I found these two dresses and thought they would be great for everyday casual wear. I can still incorporate them into my winter wardrobe by adding a lightweight long sleeve solid top under them. At $4.00 each, I thought it would be a good buy.

I also got a pair of beige Calvin Klein casual slacks. It goes great with the Snowman shirt that I found. At $3.00 each I think it's one thrifty but cute outfit. Try going to the mall and getting anything for $6.00 let alone an outfit.

With tax I didn't even spend twenty dollars. Nope...for 4 outfits my total out of pocket cost was only $18.23. In my books, that makes for one thrifty Thursday. So the next time you are in the area of your local thrift store, stop in and take a look around. You never know what you might find and how little you'll pay for it too.

I LOVE the thrift store!! When the girls were small, we got lots of great clothes there, and also some GREAT dress-up clothes! When they got older, they got all their pots and pans, etc, etc, for their dorm rooms.
Lots of great jeans for denim quilts too!
