LORD, Do You Need A Hearing Aid?

When you pray, have you sometimes wonder if GOD has heard you? Have you prayed for a specific request, yet you still haven't seen a manifestation of an answer yet? At times, I'm sure we all have felt like our prayers just weren't being heard.

When we don't get our answer as soon as we think we should, or would like to receive it, we can get caught in the trap of prayer begging. We've all done it...myself included. Prayer begging is when we continually ask GOD for the same thing over and over and over and over again. We act as if the LORD hasn't heard us, so we almost beg HIM to hear us. We begin to act like maybe the LORD needs a hearing aid because we have talked to HIM but yet HE hasn't answered yet. So we become HIS hearing aid by praying again for that particular request. If we ask HIM over and over again for the same thing surely at one time or another HE will finally hear us.

Funny, as many times as I have been guilty of doing this myself, I have to admit...no where in the Bible does it say that we are to beg GOD for anything. JESUS Himself tells us in Luke 11:9-13, "And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"

Nowhere do we read where we are to ask and ask and ask and ask for something. We simply ask in faith and the LORD will provide the answer in HIS way. HE doesn't tell us we need to beg for it, quite the opposite, we can come boldly to the throne of grace and ask of HIM our petition.

Smith Wigglesworth once said, "If you pray for any one thing seven times, you have prayed 6 times in unbelief." Why would these other 6 prayers be considered to have been prayed in unbelief? Let's look at Mark 11:22-24 "And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."

What did JESUS say in this passage, "keep asking over and over for the same thing until you get your answer?" No! HE said have faith in GOD when you pray and believe that you have received what you asked for. Does this mean that I shouldn't keep seeking the LORD until my answer has been manifested? By all means, no. Once we have prayed in faith for our petition, believing in our heart that it is done, our next step is to thank HIM for HIS provision and answer. Each time you feel the need to pray about whatever it was that you prayed for initially, don't! That's right, I said don't. Don't pray the problem, pray the answer. Give HIM thanks and praise for the answer. Psalms 22:3 (Amplified) "But You are holy, O You Who dwell in [the holy place where] the praises of Israel [are offered]." GOD inhabits the praises of HIS people.

So the next time you think the LORD hasn't heard your prayer(s), don't treat HIM like HE needs a hearing aid, rest assured HE has heard your cry. So begin to give HIM praise and thanks until your answer is manifest. HE does hear and HE will answer.

"Just because we can't see it in the natural, doesn't mean GOD isn't working in the supernatural on our behalf." ~ Perry Stone

Mrs. Storey ~

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. It's very easy for us (me) to forget that GOD not only hears us but HE will answer in HIS time too. We just have to stay grounded in HIS Word and keep our focus on Him.
