Just A Thought....

Why is it that some people never want to face the reality of certain truths? Oh they are quick to face the truth if it benefits them or someone in their immediate family or circle of friends, but let it be a truth that isn't so pretty and they want to cover it up or pretend it's not reality at all.

I faced this situation a few moments ago, and although it's not the first time with this person or this circumstance, today it really struck a chord with me. Now there are times when we may not 'want' to face the bitter truth of something but is it beneficial to pretend it doesn't exist or worse yet...try and use that truth to make another look bad so that we ourselves look as if we have clean hands.

When reality is placed in your lap, don't ignore it or abuse someone else with it...deal with it for what it is. When you try and turn it to use it against another to make yourself look good, you are the one that are ultimately dirty and it shows. If I play with mud, there's a pretty good chance I'm going to get dirty. So why hide it?

We say we walk according to the Word of GOD, but I'd like you to show me your version of the Bible, because mine doesn't say that truth bending, manipulating, guilt tripping, self-centeredness & the other things that you seem proud to live your life by, are fruits of the Spirit. No quite the contrary.

Galatians 5:22-26 (KJV) "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another."

Just a thought.

So true, so many folks try this. It's sad they can't just except the truth and admit it.

It's hard for all of us to accept the truth. We all have areas that we would rather just not deal with, but some people don't think they have any area that is wrong and they continue on their path of hurting others and even more so, the cause of Christ.
