The other day Jamie @ Homeschooling Baptist Brood asked if I had a recipe for homemade bar soap. While I have to admit the idea of making this has intrigued me, I never ventured into the process. Well, as it would happen Sandra @ Keeping It Simple, one of my favorite blogs to peruse, shared a great photo tutorial on this very topic. I knew as soon as I saw it I had to spread the news. So this one is especially for you Jamie!

Thank You so very much!!! I am so excited to try this. I have been trying some of the household cleaners, not only am I enjoying it but I am enjoying showing my girls ( mainly Chloe ) how to do these.
Also I wanted to make mention about the annoying fruit flies. I did the whole fruit in a baggy, and amazingly enough IT WORKED!! I have been fruit fly free for a few days now!!
Thank You so very much!

I am so glad that the fruit fly tip worked for you. That is wonderful!
I think I might try my hand at the bar soap as well. It sounds fairly easy enough...although, I will admit I'm a little cautious about the use of lye. I guess I just recall the stories my Grandmother would tell of the olden days when they used lye for everything. But heck I'm game for trying it out.

I am so excited, it is unfortunate that my little ones will not be able to participate, I guess this will be a " mommy experience ". I think that Sandra over at keeping it simple, her soap is just beautiful. I know that she made mention that she has never priced all of it, that she just does it for fun and enjoyment, this is what I am leaning more towards...
