We Have Not, Because We Ask Not

As always, the first thing I do before grocery shopping (or any purchasing for that matter) is to pray and ask the LORD to stretch our finances, give us favor in the stores, bring bargains and sales along our path for things that we need and for favor in finding the right deals for our family & our budget.

Matthew 7:7-8 "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."

Y
esterday was no different when I set out on my grocery shopping venture. Granted I am not finished yet, but this was a start at least. One particular store in the area doubles coupons up to 0.99 cents. So I proudly went in with my .75 cent off coupons just itching to get my $1.50 worth out of them. *grin*

Although I don't usually shop this store as their prices are a bit higher than Kroger or HEB, I thought I'd give them a walk through and see what sales might behoove me. I didn't pick up much but what I did buy I thought was a good bargain.

24 ct. box Lipton family size tea bags ($2.28)
12 oz. French's spicy brown mustard ($1.69)
12 oz. bag Wacky Mac pasta spirals ($1.39)

Total cost of items before coupons $5.36
T
otal saved in vendor coupons $2.25
Total saved in double coupons $2.14 (yes, for some reason one of the coupons didn't double, it rounded up to .64 cents instead. I didn't catch it until I was home already.)

Total cost OOP (out of pocket) $0.97

The next time you need to go grocery shopping ask the LORD to go with you & ask HIM to bring the bargains and deals to you. Take HIM at HIS Word; HE will never leave you or forsake you.

I do the exact same thing...I always pray that the Lord would guide me, give me direction and wisdom, and put good buys in my path. He knows our need and He is a good Father who cares for His children in all areas of our lives. I so enjoyed reading this post. :)
