Rain, Rain Go Away

You would have thought a hurricane came through our area today as we had some very nasty weather. At points it rained so hard that you couldn't even see out the window. Hail pelted our windows and roof so hard that it sounded like someone was doing a tap dance. During mid afternoon it was so dark out that you would have thought it was midnight out. The only light to be seen was when the lightening struck; and when it struck boy was it unnerving!

So what better to do on a rainy day like this? Take a nap of course! That's what Hubby & I did. Well, actually Hubby, myself the dog and the cats that is. *grin* So once we woke up and I got a good look at the tile floors I was disgusted. I had just steamed the floors the other day and now they were laden in muddy foot tracks. I know with this type of weather this is bound to happen but I couldn't stand to look at it. So out came the cleaning supplies. Now the floors and house are tidy once more.

As I began working my way from room to room picking up here and there I came upon the spare bedroom. Oh how this room has daunted me for so long now. For some reason the rest of the family thinks this room is storage facility. Any cast off furniture or other "junk" they have lands straight in there. Well, I had my fill of it. So tonight while Hubby was watching a movie I closed off the bedroom door and began making a clean sweep of things. It's so amazing what a little bit of effort can accomplish in a short period of time.

Sometimes moving things around in this house can bring pleasant surprises. I had pulled out the quilt rack to vacuum under it and I noticed it felt heavier than normal. As I began to pick it up to set it on the bed I soon found out why. Ta Da! There was one of our kitty kats hiding under there. She is not a fan of thunder and lightening so any place she can hide is fine with her. Since it was still nasty outside this was her "safe place." The look on her face told me straight out that I had indeed disturbed her. Cats! They can be so temperamental at times.

I love napping during storms too! Wait a minute, I like napping in general ;) You certainly did get some awful weather, didn't you? I think I hear the rumblings of some of it headed our way as I type this. I too love the Waltons, that's what television ought to be like.

We have had a little cloudy skys and rain today, so glad we didn't get the bad stuff. I love taking a nap during storms. I know no one is going to come by and distrub us...lol...if it's pretty all bets are off, I can expect, unexpected guest at any time.
Isn't it nice to get your house all straight and in order.
Have A blessed week-end.

Our weather was also terrible yesterday evening and all day today. My garden is coming along nice and I'm glad we didn't get any hail. I pray the hail didn't damage your garden. However, I can't complain about the rain, as our garden has been doing a rain dancing all week.

Our garden loved the rain! I had wondered about the hail but GOD was certainly protecting everything.

Isn't that the truth! As soon as you try and take advantage of down time for a nap either the phone or doorbell rings. This is a good thing though I guess. It just means we are loved and have friends and family that want to be around us. So I guess it's 2-fold on that issue. *grin*

What a sweet post about a rainy day. Since I live in the desert it sounds like a wonderful day to me.
