A Bun In The Oven

Ok, more than one bun to be exact. *grin* Today was day 1 of baking for the house as well as for the weekend bake sale. It felt so good to put on my apron and create something yummy with my hands. It has been way too long since I have had a full day to do what I needed to. Today was almost that such day ~ minus the 101 phone calls. Some were calls that I didn't mind at all, but most were not on my list of "good" things, as Martha Stewart would say.

So far I have my white bread and my white-wheat bread baked. all that is left are the rolls; which one batch is in the oven as I write. There is nothing better to me than the aroma of freshly baked bread wafting through the house. It's a comforting, soul satisfying thing.

Hubby and I couldn't wait any longer...
one of our wheat loaves is almost history now. But boy was it well worth it. Hot bread with melting butter....yum!

Everything has been baked, the kitchen cleaned and now it's time for a glass of sweet iced tea & Sandra Lee's magazine. Life is good isn't it!?!

Your bread and rolls look wonderful. Last time I made rolls, it was a big disaster. Not a good recipe for me to have tried and I was quite upset about it. Will have to try a different recipe sometime.

Tomorrow is my bread day. Today is DEEP cleaning of the kitchen. I am going through all the cupboards cleaning them out. A while ago I made the cinnamon swirl bread you had on your other blog. My Husband has been asking for that again, so I might make that one also.

You are quite the baker - isn't it fun to be in the kitchen creating??
