Herbal-essence

The LORD provides us with so much, that we really take for granted. I have felt like HE has been prompting me to start studying on how to better my health naturally. My interest in the healing properties of herbs has been there for quite some time now, but I just didn't know where to start. Have you looked online and the bookstore for herbal guides? Let me tell you...there is a TON of information out there. So picking a starting place isn't the easiest to say the least.
I was so blessed that my Mom let me borrow some of her books. Here is one that is not only beautiful, but full of great information....I can't wait to delve into it.
My local co-op carries all kinds of naturally grown and harvested organic herbs....everything from Acaci to Yohimbe. Some of the herbs I have heard of and lots that I haven't. The owner o the co-op is so knowledgeable and a great helpful spring of information.Isn't it amazing how the LORD always provides for you!

Book Review

Thanks to Booksneeze for being able to read and review this book. Although it has it's points of interest, personally I found it to be very 'real' & candid. I think it would be a good read if you are experiencing this issue or something related to it, as it will certainly let you know you are not alone when coping with family concerns as such. Insights and personal reflection will certainly intertwine.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this series. From book 1 to book 3, the author kept you wanting to read more. I love her style of writing as it really brings things alive in your imagination. Definitely a new favorite author.
Thank you Blogging for Books for letting me review this great read!

Return To Sunday Dinner....A Review

Thank you once again Booksneeze for the opportunity to review yet again, another fabulous book. "Return To Sunday Dinner" by Russell Cronkhite, is not only a beautifully crafted book, it contains many tasty recipes that would be a pleasure to serve both family & friends.
Here is a glimpse of the table of contents. Here you will find many wonderful ideas for your meal time gathering. I love the 'Easy Time Saving & Do Ahead Tips' that are listed at the end of each chapter section.

The book is printed in such high quality work as well as beautiful photos, that I would rank it right up there with such books as the William Sonoma cookbooks. However, I must admit, personally, I find Return To Sunday Dinner to hold much tastier, pantry friendly recipes that don't take a lot of time to prepare.

Stained Glass Hearts...A Review

Thank you Booksneeze for allowing me to review Patsy Clairmont's book. "Stained Glass Hearts." As stated by the publisher's comment of the book..."Stained Glass Hearts reminds us just how brightly the light of God can shine even amidst our darkest moments, uncovering the promise and possibility of redemption and transformation." I was very excited to receive the book so that I could delve into it. I found myself enthralled in the pages. Patsy's candid, openness made this book one that truly will speak to you & open you to your own road of healing for your 'stained glass heart.'

A Woman's Review

I had to force myself to complete this book. Although she has some insightful information in it, I was really disappointed in it. I don't discourage anyone from reading it, but her writing style just wasn't my cup of tea. But thank you "Blogging for Books" for the opportunity to read it.

From The Reading Room

While at Sam's this afternoon, I couldn't resist picking up two new magazines to add to my kitchen reading collection. Since I have a plethora of fresh rosemary and basil growing right now, I am looking forward to making a batch of the Basil Jelly & Rosemary Preserves.

The Harvest Of Grace - A Review

I am such a fan of books about the Amish, so when BookSneeze offered "The Harvest of Grace" by Cindy Woodsmall to review, I jumped at the chance.

Summary: "Reeling from an unexpected betrayal, can Sylvia find relief from the echoes of her past…or will they shape her future forever? Although Sylvia Fisher recognizes that most Old Order Amish women her age spend their hours managing a household and raising babies, she has just one focus—tending and nurturing the herd on her family’s dairy farm. But when a dangerous connection with an old beau forces her to move far from home, she decides to concentrate on a new start and pour her energy into reviving another family’s debt-ridden farm. After months in rehab, Aaron Blank returns home to sell his Daed’s failing farm and move his parents into an easier lifestyle. Two things stand in his way: the father who stubbornly refuses to recognize that Aaron has changed and the determined new farmhand his parents love like a daughter. Her influence on Aaron’s parents could ruin his plans to escape the burdens of farming and build a new life. Can Aaron and Sylvia find common ground? Or will their unflinching efforts toward opposite goals blur the bigger picture— a path to forgiveness, glimpses of grace, and the promise of love." -- excerpt  courtesy of Cindy Woodsmall website

When I first got the book I couldn't wait to delve into it. As I began reading it, I went from excited to somewhat disappointment. I had to make myself read the book as, to me, it was very slow to start, which in turn made it very hard for me to keep my interest. However, as I kept reading it things began to get better. I did enjoy the book after all but I will admit, I don't feel this is a book that I would purposely go out and purchase. But I don't want this to discourage anyone from taking the chance to read it for themselves.
